Pussy Cat Theatre...

The new kit this month at Alpha Stamps is called Pink Valentine Theatre Kit. As a fan of the color pink I immediately fell in love with this kit and begged to make a sample! For said sample, I went back to my roots a bit and made a cat headed ballet theatre...
and it has lights!
The lights were so easy to add because the Punch & Judy Theatre (that I used as a base for my creation) has a lovely cubbyhole on the top, perfect for hiding your lighting controls.
I used a Mini String of Fairy Lights and hot glued them to the ceiling of the theatre and threaded the wire for the controller through a tiny hole in the ceiling so it could live in the cubbyhole.
You can just see the fairy lights in the photo above.
Here I am with my controller out ready to turn the lights on!
It looks so pretty all lit up!
If you're wondering how I got all of my scenery and dancers to stand up, here's my secret. After cutting out the pieces I wanted to use I glued them to 1/8 Inch Wooden Dowels then I made holes in the theatre floor, with a craft knife, where I wanted them go.
To keep them in place I used hot glue.
I think they look clean and uncluttered this way.
Thanks for stopping by and reading my ramblings. I hope you will try to create a theatre for yourself or a friend. If you're interested in the supplies I used, you can find them HERE.
Go make something!

Maison de l'Amour...

or the House of Love is a lovely little market stall run by Madam Sophie and her dog Giget. Madam sells gifts of love and really makes a killing during the week leading up to Valentine's Day. Let's take a look at her wares...
The shop is quite festive with it's red, black and white wallpaper and signage.
Madam Sophie is proud of her French heritage and you can see this in the Eiffel Tower paper she has covered her back wall with.
Awww, there's little Giget, waiting to serve the next customer!
Yum! Don't those candies look tempting!
Madam Sophie carries a wide variety of wonderful things...
she's also open late to better serve her customer's needs.

I hope you have enjoyed my tour of the Maison de l'Amour... if you'd like to create a miniature house of love for yourself you can click here for my supply list. Wanna know how I made those tiny heart shaped candy boxes? Well, I have a Snapguide to show you how :)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Valentine Candy Boxes

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are getting ready to start 2015 off with a bang!

Since I'm always running a bit behind I have vowed to be more timely with my art endeavors in 2015. Sooooo... I've already started making my valentines! Little heart shaped candy boxes with lots of flowers and glitter...

(My secret for getting the chipboard heart to stand up is an 1/8 inch dowel cut into a two inch piece and glued to the the heart. Then you poke a hole in the lid of your box, push the dowel through and glue into place. Looks kinda icky with all of that glue so I will glue a flower or two over it.)

(You can't even see the dowel on the back because I hid it with flowers!)

If you would like to make some of these sweet candy box valentines, head on over to Alpha Stamps where you can find the supplies I used on sale!
