tiny little book tutorial

I have always loved miniatures and had a doll house growing up. Recently, I decided I wanted to try my hand at creating some miniatures of my own. Inspired by, Alpha Stamps design team member, Nichola Battilana's Godefroy's Book Shop I got to work on making a couple of collage sheets of book covers. I like my books to look old and well read so my covers and the following tutorial reflect that aesthetic.

Start your book making by cutting out some book covers. I like to do several books at once because it takes so little time to do each one and in the end you will have a whole pile of books ready to use.
Next you will cut out a strip of cardstock for each book (I use beige parchment look cardstock I got at an office supply store). Most of the covers on my collage sheets are one inch high so I cut my strips at just shy of an inch high by eleven inches because that is the length of the cardstock I used.
After my strips of cardstock are cut out I folded my covers over an old ruler to give them a book shape.

Then I inked the edges of each cover and measured their closed width. Using the width of each cover as a guide for a set of pages I folded a strip of cardstock accordion style.
I used a glue stick on each side of the cardstock pages to glue them permanently closed. Don't use too much glue or it will squish out onto the edges of your pages and make it hard to ink them.
Once my page stacks were dry I inked the edges lightly.
Then glued the covers on using a small amount of Tacky (white) glue.

So easy and fun to do!
I hope this tutorial has been helpful and you enjoy making miniature books as much as I do. It's so easy using my Tiny Little Books or Domestic Little Books collage sheets.
